The Bombay Samachar follows the unique story of Asia’s oldest continuously published newspaper, the Bombay Samachar. Originally a medium for conveying trading information to Gujarati-speaking merchants, the 205-year-old publication has become a symbol of Indian diversity, trust, and credibility. The paper’s determined Parsi ownership adds another distinctive dimension through the Zoroastrian tenets of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds, allowing contributors to publish anything relevant with only one exception: the information must be verifiably true. Yet, as the publication stands at the threshold of an increasingly digital world, the film begins to ask a larger question: what is the future of print media?
