KADAMA examines the meaning of our duty toward our spouses and when that loyalty might shift in favor of a precious grandchild. Padma’s husband Dileep dies in strange circumstances, making it difficult to label it as an accident, suicide or homicide. As a retired criminal psychologist, Padma is delighted that Detective Rhodes, a former student of hers, is assigned to question her. She is sure she can outwit him. But when her tactics fail, Prema begs Rhodes to arrest her and release her granddaughter. In a surprising move, the detective, convinced that Dileep physically abused both, lets them go.
