Distraught about the world and the many deaths of friends, family, and the rest of the world during COVID, we relieved our heartaches in various ways. I wrote a song in the midst of a friend, Raja, and his wife having a premature baby during a pandemic while others were dying all over the world. I recognized how disposable we are to others and questioned if we matter. And would our stories be long forgotten, while the only escape, if even for a moment, was to dance as the sorrows that consumed me as I felt the pain and suffering of others, and as I prayed for the child to survive.
