Su Baloglu was born in 1987 in Famagusta, Cyprus. In 2012, she graduated from Carleton University with a B.A. in Film Studies. Upon finishing university, she returned to Turkey and completed an M.A. in Kadir Has University in Cinema and Television program and worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate film students. She worked and volunteered in various domestic and international film festivals such as Antalya Film Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival, and Inside Out LGBT Festival.
