Nagore Urdapilleta, a rower from Orio, has spent years on the Oria River but realizes she knows little about its hidden history. She embarks on a journey upstream, meeting historians and locals who reveal the region’s rich heritage. She explores the beach of Oribarzar, the ancient Altxerri cave, Orio’s whaling past, and the pioneering ship designs of Mutiozabal. She learns about Agorregi’s forges, old salmon fishing traps, and the once-thriving shipyards. Among them, Mapil built the San José galleon, sunk in the Caribbean in the 18th century with a $17 billion treasure. By the end of her journey, Nagore discovers that the true treasure of the Oria is its astonishing history
