Food Needs No Boundaries is a science fiction short film by Smita Nooreen Khan, who single-handedly scripted, directed, produced, acted, and edited the film. It follows the story of two girls, Mili in India and Shanaya in Korea, who connect over a phone call. When Shanaya expresses her craving for her favorite Indian food, Mili prepares the desired meal and, through a fictional teleportation on call, sends a plate instantly to Korea. Shanaya receives it with joy, and they eat together while planning their next meal. The film celebrates the emotional bond of home-cooked food and imagines a future of teleporting meals. It’s a tribute to all craving homely food worldwide.
