What did Diana Molina say about his film?

Puka Urpi journey began 8 years ago when director Segundo Fuerez, a member of the kichwa nationality of Ecuador, shared this story with producer Jacob Valladares of Tinamú Films S.C. They worked together in order to bring to life this magical story about a girl that loses her mother and throughout the teachings of the grandmother, she develops a strong relationship with nature and the world of spirits. Making this movie has been the adventure of a lifetime. We began shooting the first images in 2018 after winning the national film funding of Ecuador. This movie is a community production as all members of the cast and crew are members of the kichwa nationality and the film was entirely shoot in the Yambiro community, deep in the Andes mountains. The postproduction process was delayed but we had the opportunity to participate in several WIP spaces such as: FICVIÑA, Florianopolis and Vancouver Latin America Film Festival. This gave us plenty of feedback and allow us to work the final cut of the movie from a fresh perspective. In 2023 we won the national films postproduction funding of Ecuador and we were finally able to work in the final cut of the movie. We are extremely happy that the journey of Puka Urpi had come to have its premier in the 4 th children’s, science, nature and wildlife film festival. We have worked very hard on making this movie and we hope that audiences around the world can enjoy it.
