What did Ivan Usella say about his film?
Mexico City, January. 2024
Mexico City is now a cosmopolitan and modern metropolis, but its origins date back to 1325, when the Mexicas discovered the central islet of Lake Texcoco, where they would settle to build a powerful empire.
As a tribute to this majestic Aztec capital, architect Iván Usella, driven by his own inspiration and deep love for the city, presents "CIUDAD DE MÉXICO VOLUME I." This project seeks to showcase to the world some of the city's most iconic and unparalleled natural and cosmopolitan settings.
IVÁN USELLA, born in Mexico City, holds a degree in Architecture with a specialization in Sustainable Design. He has worked in various areas of the construction industry, contributing to multiple projects and supporting the growth of different industries while developing commercial strategies.
Currently, he is working on a self-sustainable project that aims to transform the user's way of life by incorporating various methods to reduce and reuse resources. This initiative also seeks to involve different sectors of the population, promoting respect for the environment we inhabit.
"CIUDAD DE MÉXICO VOLUME I" is an invitation to explore and experience every corner of this metropolis—its art, essence, origins, and people. As architect Usella states, "The history of this city is told in decades, eras that intertwine cultures." He also adds, "Viewers of this short film will embark on a journey from the remnants of the city's origins through significant periods that have shaped it into what it is today." This short film has an approximate duration of 10 minutes and is available for streaming. The project features the audiovisual production of award-winning Venezuelan filmmaker Heitters Diaz, who brought his expertise and years of experience to the project, serving as Director of Photography and bringing to life the architect's original vision.
"CIUDAD DE MÉXICO VOLUME I" is set to be the first in a series of volumes that will continue showcasing the best of the Aztec capital.
