A black-and-white photographer is preparing for the exhibition of his life — a lifetime's collection of portraits, each subject catalogued not by name but by number: "Object." As the deadline closes in, his devotion to capturing beauty at its most fleeting peak curdles from artistic obsession into something far darker, blurring the line between the collector and the collected. When his girlfriend Lisa finally asks to be his next subject, the collection's true cost comes due. A meditation on the male gaze and the violence of being seen only as material for someone else's art.
