Elliot wants to go to east coast colleges. His mother Shelley wants to hold onto keep him close because she is afraid to lose him too. They have recently lost Elliot’s aunt/Shelley’s sister who was a vital part of this family; and are reeling from that loss. Shelley has joined a grief group to handle the same. However, this grief group is targeting Shelley for her money and manipulate her into giving them money as a ruse to “keep Elliot close”. Due to the weak and vulnerable state Shelley is in, she falls for this trick and betrays Elliot and his future.
