Guru Ji Namaskar – A Cinematic Tribute to the Power of Education
Guru Ji Namaskar is a heartfelt feature film that pays tribute to the silent heroes of our society, teachers who dedicate their lives to shaping future generations. Set in the rural landscape of Odisha, the film tells the inspiring story of Abhinandan Pattanaik, a compassionate and determined teacher who arrives at a struggling village school where students lack motivation, proper facilities, and even basic dignity in education.
Instead of accepting the broken system, Guru Ji (played by AMAN) chooses to challenge it with empathy and action. He transforms the mid-day meal program into a meaningful and respectful experience, encouraging students to return to school and rebuild their trust in education. His efforts begin to create visible change, but they also invite resistance from within the system. The central opposition in the film is powerfully portrayed by NSDian Sukumar Tudu, whose intense and realistic performance adds depth and authenticity to the conflict.
Directed by Jitendriya Pradhan and produced and written by Sanket Tripathy and co-produce by Illa Mishra under The UnderGrads, the film reflects years of passion, dedication, and belief in socially relevant storytelling. The film also holds special emotional significance as it features music composed by the legendary late Abhijit Majumdar. His timeless compositions elevate the emotional core of the film.
The project was shot in real rural locations of Odisha, involving local communities, students, and theatre artists, which brought authenticity and emotional depth to the film.
Guru Ji Namaskar was driven by passion, resilience, and belief. Created with limited resources but immense dedication, the film stands as a tribute to teachers who silently shape lives and futures. It reflects the collective effort of a committed cast and crew who believed in telling a meaningful and socially relevant story.
