What did María Luisa Zorrilla-Abascal say about his film?

My Brother Wolf is an independent Mexican short film written and directed by 27- year-old Rafael Jaime-Zorrilla. It’s a fictional story inspired by his own childhood experiences; it tells the heartwarming adventures of a shy, lonely little boy with a motor disability who, during his first summer camp, discovers the beauty of nature and the healing power of true friendship through the bond he shares alongside a gentle, mysterious feral boy who emerges from the pages of literature to help him discover his worth and his place in the world.

Eight-year-old Jorge Luis Jiménez-Avilés and 13-year-old Héctor Mateo García- Díaz-Infante make their film debuts as Rafael and Mowgli respectively (being the first-ever Mexican on-screen portrayal of Rudyard Kipling’s iconic jungle boy).

Due to the director being a member of the community referred to as "people with disabilities", he seeks to capture the positive impact that an open and non- judgmental coexistence can have, when people give themselves the true opportunity to know and appreciate someone that others may consider "different" as sometimes we lose sight of the importance of social inclusion, which consists of fully integrating all people based on respect and appreciation of each of them as individual beings, with capabilities, interests and feelings. He also wishes to motivate children to rediscover the joyous and liberating gifts which can be enjoyed through a harmless interaction with nature.

It's a complex vision which took four years to develop. This non-profit project was filmed on location in the beautiful Las Estacas Nature Reserve over a two-day period with the collaboration of a committed group of people with the sole purpose of sharing a story that offers beauty, innocence and an important reflection on the worth each of us have as individuals.
