Parikrama directed by Shilpi Singh
I shot Parikrama in 2020s, its taken unbelievably long to finish the edit, get good sound, and decent Credit and Colour. I also had to shoot in two patches, for the first patch I paid the DOP and sound recordist, for the next batch I had run out of money and found friends to do it for free. Rather for the second one I had an official FTII graduate compared to a much younger no big college graduate for the first one. The locations we had to shoot at were tricky and some on elevated banks, not to mention the weather was very difficult, making it difficult to stay active. Surprisingly, all the child actors were very strong.
I can't grade my cinematographers, as there was lot of weather challenge and lots of shots needed in a short span. I made a mistake, where because of the very hot day, we were not able to get all the walking shots with me, so I went with my FTII friend for my re-shoot. In the second shoot we saved cost on camera rental, by renting it from Benaras. Last shoot the gear had come from a helpful production company in Mumbai, who charged for the person they sent with the goal. But the Benaras camera turned to have color problems, and there was no way we could switch it, so only and color correction were we able to address the differences created by this camera. The story of anyone's day long experience to make you grow a lot, has always fascinated me. I have always wanted to revisit a child's journey with the challenges they take upon themselves. I was very happy with the casting of my protagonist, nowhere was I needing anything more from her. Others I struggled a bit.
