Blu’s – Every Leaf Tells a Story directed by Rajesh PK

What did Rajesh PK say about his film?
Born with a green leaf in her hair and nurtured by Mother Earth’s tender embrace, Blu grows up in meadows alive with wildflowers, streams, and birdsong. Her days are filled with rain-dances and laughter, until the horizon darkens with smoke and machines. Concrete and metal threaten to erase everything she loves. Heartbroken but unyielding, Blu clutches her green leaf and runs toward hope, determined to defend and reclaim her Mother Earth.
Blu’s is a dialogue-free, music-driven animated short that speaks to humanity’s choices in the face of environmental destruction. The score, composed by Sushin Shyam, carries the film across borders and cultures, serving as a universal language of resilience. Each frame is crafted with a painterly look that mirrors nature’s constant transformation—fluttering butterfly wings, blooming flowers, shifting leaves—an ever-changing canvas of fragile beauty.
Director Rajesh PK brings over two decades of global animation experience (DreamWorks, DNEG) to this deeply personal work. Haunted by the question “What if one day our green mother perished?”, he found his answer in Blu—a child pure of soul, through whose eyes we see the urgency to act before it’s too late.
The film is the debut original project of RedGod Studios, an independent studio Rajesh founded in Kerala, India, in 2019. With a passionate team of 30 artists, RedGod has grown into both a training ground and creative hub, nurturing new voices while delivering world-class animation. Blu’s represents not only their craft but their collective belief that stories can inspire change.
