The Diary of Redegonda
The Diary of Redegonda
The film Boundary Line is based on the short story Das Tagebuch der Redegonda written in 1909 by Arthur Schnitzler.
It begins with a scene in a park at night, where a novelist is approached by a man. Thisman asks the novelist to publish his story as a piece of fiction. The story revolvesaround events involving a woman, gradually blurring the lines between reality and delusion.
As the story unfolds, the ambiguity of whether the man’s tale is true or entirely fabricated creates multiple layers of interpretation. The psychological portrayal of the characters is exceptional, and the universality of the themes deeply resonated with me,inspiring me to adapt it into a film.
