About the Film
Set in Burrabazar, Kolkata, MANU is a meditative, sensory short that traces a single day in the life of a young boy — without using much dialogue. The story is told through texture, breath, light, and silence.
Rooted in the 1990s, the film is built on memory: the rhythm of Gangaur celebrations, the women’s rituals on Ghats of Hooghly river, and the quiet poetry of a city that lives both in noise and in stillness. MANU is not a traditional narrative — it is a memory remembered, a boy seen through feeling rather than plot.
