THE PALADIN Music Video by ILIYAS DAUDI

The music video «THE PALADIN » was prepared by the team of the film Almanac «About CINEMA and life ». The clip is linked to a documentary about Sadyq Idrisov, a veteran of the Afghan war and an Honored Mentor of the Youth of the Republic of Dagestan.

During the filming of the documentary, the film crew was amazed by the beauty of the dances and the music of the people of the Republic of Dagestan. They are very authentic.

Naturally, the idea arose to create an additional project using rich musical material.

The leadership of the republic provided great assistance, as well as the management and staff of the Dagestan State Song and Dance Ensemble. It was thanks to them that we managed to shoot with almost zero budget.

One of the main problems, besides financial ones, was the territorial remoteness of the filming location. These are expensive tickets and accommodation issues for the film crew. The amount of equipment that could be taken with us was also very limited.

But it should be noted that fate was very favorable to the film group. Filming took place every day from early morning until late at night. And as soon as the filming process was completed, a very severe flood occurred because of the torrential rains that began.

We hope that our music video will encourage interest in visiting the Republic of Dagestan, the republic with wonderful nature, where mountains are adjacent to the warm sea.

The project was produced by Vladimir Malyshev, Rector of All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK), and directed and written by Iliyas Daudi, an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Screenwriting and Film Studies.
