The inception of this story traces back to a real-life anecdote. I came to know about a young boy at a prestigious city school who possessed a unique habit: whenever his classmates absentmindedly lost their belongings, he would always find them and hand them over to the teacher. This is, without a doubt, a remarkable trait. In today’s world, amidst our relentless struggle for survival, we are rapidly losing our core human values, often forgetting the responsibility we owe to the next generation to nurture such innocence.

As I thought more about this child, I envisioned him having a companion—someone purely innocent and entirely untouched by the toxicities of our society. This thought gave birth to the presence of Harlequin in the film. Drawn from the traditional Italian Commedia dell'arte, Harlequin transcends time to become the companion and confidant of a modern-day child.

The journey of making this film was fraught with hurdles. Our primary obstacle was securing funds, and we had to operate within severely limited financial constraints. Furthermore, Ujaan, the young boy playing the protagonist, had absolutely no prior acting experience, which presented a significant creative challenge on set.

Thematically, through the character of the mother, the film attempts to portray the deep anguish and grueling daily battles of a single woman striving to survive and protect her child in today's ruthless capitalist society.

Ultimately, it was the indomitable, never-say-die spirit of my cast and crew that helped us push past all adversities and bring this cinematic vision to life. I owe them my boundless love and heartfelt gratitude.
