‘Hermanas’ is a tactical action short film that explores deep human connection amidst the chaos of combat. The story follows Leo and Lia, two elite soldiers facing a dangerous extraction mission in a hostile and devastated environment. Through a narrative that alternates between intense firefights and emotional flashbacks, the film delves into their unbreakable friendship and the sacrifices demanded by battle. As director and screenwriter, my priority was to craft a character-driven drama with hyper-realistic combat choreography, avoiding an overuse of digital effects to maintain immersion.

Bringing this story to life required the dedication of an exceptional team. The lead actresses, Laura Lafuente and Rebeca Guarch, brought Leo and Lia to life with emotional intensity and astonishing physicality. To ensure the tactical precision of the stunts, we were supported by choreographer Alberto Terrazzini and stunt coordinator Jairson Pires. The cinematography, handled by Javier Hernández, captured the raw intensity of the action by shooting in RAW format, underpinned by the solid organisation of Jimena García as first assistant and production manager. The film was edited by Gheorghe Catalin Cristea.

The production took place over four intense days of filming in Madrid in October 2025. It presented a huge logistical challenge that forced us to perfect every detail in post- production, from the immersive sound design with 5.1 mixing to the demanding colour grading within the ACES colour space. Beyond the gunfire, “Hermanas” is, at its heart, a story about sisterly love that brings light to the darkest moments. The whole team is grateful, and it is an honour to present our work at the Indian Cine Film Fest.
