Tranquil Tides: The Transformative Touch of Hydrotherapy
My personal transformation through hydrotherapy—relieving pain, boosting mobility, and restoring hope from a life threatening situation—sparked the “Yes, We Too Can!!!” movement. Recognizing its potential, I founded the YWTC Charitable Trust to champion hydrotherapy for persons with disabilities. Through relentless advocacy—swimming training camps, public talks, media interviews, and proposals, we persuaded the Tamil Nadu Government to construct a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool, opening doors for thousands.
With CSR partnership, we created Tranquil Tides: The Transformative Touch of Hydrotherapy, a powerful documentary showcasing hydrotherapy’s magic. Water buoyancy reduces joint stress, enhances circulation, eases muscle tension, and uplifts mental health—benefits vital for elderly people, persons with disabilities rebuilding strength, and those combating obesity etc.
True to our ethos, the film was made inclusively: A Direction Course participant with disabilities served as assistant director; Smartphone Filmmaking course participants worked as interns for cinematography; Our AM Media & Sports Pvt Ltd’s audio description trainees scripted and voice over by a blind person. Co-director Krishnasatyam masterfully handled cinematography, editing, and color correction, ensuring cinematic excellence.
Accessibility is core: Full sign language interpretation, precise captioning, and immersive audio description make it reachable for all. From serene pool sessions to joyful testimonials, Tranquil Tides weaves science, stories, and hope.
We envision this film sparking policy changes, funding more pools, and normalizing hydrotherapy nationwide. Join us in creating awareness—screen it at events, share online, and advocate for wellness equity. Together, let’s make tranquil tides a reality for every body.
