Les Autres - atypical short movie

Pierre Descamps has directed eight horror and science fiction short films, which have been selected for the Richmond Film Festival and the Chelsea Film Festival, among others.
“Les Autres” is a very atypical short movie because it combines humor, science fiction and politics. It is just a mirror of the absurdity of our world and our current society. With this short film, I want to tell how a fascist regime could be established in the near future where technology would be omnipresent and where feelings between androids and human beings would be confused. The strength of science fiction and dystopian works is that they allow us to reflect on the world through fiction, to entertain us while making us think. It is the imaginations of the future that animate us and make the present. My influences are in the writings of Philip K. Dick, whose film story is adapted, but also in the visionary works 1984 by George Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
With our team of about forty people led by Noa Brandenburg, we shot the short film in 6 days in different locations: a loft in Belleville, Montreau Park in Montreuil, the Black Sheep bar in Paris, Studios 44, in offices as well as in the laboratories of Aubervilliers . I would particularly like to thank the entire technical team and the artistic team of the project . Then it took a year of post-production with editing, color grading, mixing, but also special effects to work with the help of Bimome Productions to rework the green screen of the billboard scene.
The aim of the film is to make us think about our current world and to use fiction to take a stand against all forms of fascism. My intention is to depict the physical and verbal violence, but also the humor and cynicism of this future world, which is both fantasy and rooted in reality.
