Run Away From Here is an absurdist murder mystery that follows Siddharth and his friend Detective Kumar as they attempt to uncover the truth behind the death of Harsh Shah. The film mixes comedy and thriller elements, using exaggeration, unexpected turns, and witty humor to explore how ordinary people react when pushed into chaos. Although the story plays with absurd situations, it also reflects the excitement and uncertainty that comes with making something new with the people around you.

The project began shortly after I finished high school. With four months before college and a strong desire to develop my filmmaking skills, I decided to use that window to make a complete film from scratch. I wrote the 50-page screenplay for Run Away From Here in six days and gathered my friends to bring the characters to life. We shot the entire film in seven days using only a Sony A6 camera, a gimble, and the limited locations available within my residential society. Time was our biggest challenge. Most of the cast and crew were still in school, so almost every shoot day required schedule changes, late evenings, and quick adjustments. Even with those limitations, we pushed ourselves to create dynamic shots, intricate camera movements, and a visual style far more ambitious than our budget suggested. The editing process took two months and helped shape the film’s final tone and jazzy rhythm.

The cast features Ayaan Khan as Siddharth and Daksh Pal as Detective Kumar, with supporting performances by Niranjj Saravan, Kashvi Bhatt, and Bhavya Pandya. Our crew included writer and director Rishab Sharma, cinematographer Dipanshu Mahakul, assistant directors Asmit Kunal and Navtej Singh, assistant cinematographer Kshitij Patel, production design by Pragya Prasad, makeup and costume by Deshna Ray, editing by Niranjj Saravan and sound by Reyansh Majithia. Together, we created a film that reflects creativity, teamwork, and the joy of learning by doing.
