The Guerrilla – A Story of Mission, Mistakes, and Human Survival

The Guerrilla is a short Assamese drama-thriller written and directed by debutant Prince Borah that explores the fragile line between ideology and humanity. The film follows a guerrilla fighter who is assigned a important mission . What appears to be a routine operation soon spirals out of control when unexpected circumstances force him to confront the consequences of his actions, and beliefs.

The idea for the film emerged from an interest in telling stories rooted in the socio-political realities of Northeast India while focusing on the human emotions that exist behind headlines and stereotypes. Rather than presenting a conventional action narrative, The Guerrilla seeks to examine the psychological journey of a man trapped between duty and conscience.

The film was produced on a very very limited budget with a passionate team of first ime filmmakers from Assam. Despite the challenges of working with limited resources, the crew remained committed to creating an authentic and visually compelling story. Shooting in natural locations brought both opportunities and difficulties, but it also helped capture the atmosphere and realism that the story demanded.

For the cast and crew, the filmmaking process was a journey of learning, collaboration, and perseverance. Every member of the team contributed creatively to bring the project to life, proving that meaningful stories can be told regardless of scale or budget.

Our film The Guerrila getting selected for Bangalore International Short film festival is an encouraging milestone for the team and provides an opportunity share this story with audiences from different cultures and backgrounds. We hope The Guerrilla sparks conversations about conflict, choice, and the human experiences that connect us all.
